Recently, the second session of the Global Agrifood Innovation Roadshow, part of the lead-up to the 2025 World AgriFood Innovation Conference (WAFI), was successfully held via Tencent Meeting and live-streamed online. As a key prelude to WAFI2025, this roadshow focused on the theme “Innovation Acceleration, Resilient Future,” spotlighting cutting-edge developments in smart agriculture, biotechnology, and food technology. Four disruptive innovation projects were showcased, attracting the active participation of domestic and international investors, industry experts, and media representatives.

During the session, four pioneering enterprises presented their innovative projects (see projects details at the end):

Li Yiming, CEO of United-Box Intelligent Equipment (Jinhua) Co., Ltd.
Presented the company’s Carbon-Neutral Intelligent Cultivation Module, a fully enclosed plant factory solution built upon a multimodal intelligent environmental control system and zero-carbon energy technologies. The module enables dynamic regulation of temperature, humidity, light, CO₂ concentration, and nutrient solutions, making it suitable for deployment in extreme environments.

Zhao Qiankun, General Manager of Zhongke Zhimu (Xi'an) Information Technology Co., Ltd.
Introduced the "Digital Animal Husbandry Innovation and Application Demonstration Project (Sheep) in Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province," which leverages AI large models, IoT, and 5G technologies to build a digital platform for the entire Hu sheep industry chain. The project integrates smart ear tags, blockchain traceability, and an AI-based disease warning system to form a closed-loop ecosystem from feeding to processing, logistics, and sales.

Tao Mingqing, Chairman of Jiangsu Zhongtian Zhigan Life Data Co., Ltd.
Demonstrated the "Plant Life Analyzer," the world’s first device for analyzing plant cell membrane electrical parameters based on the Gibbs free energy equation. It breaks through the limitations of traditional physicochemical detection methods by enabling real-time analysis of over 50 physiological indicators, including water metabolism and nutrient transport.

Tang Xuezhi, General Manager of Chengdu Nongli Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd.
Showcased a "Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Agriculture Technology – All-in-One Solution for Agricultural and Food Safety," which innovatively integrates selenium-enriched probiotics, microbial sensing, and heavy metal inhibition technologies to create a production system for agricultural products that are residue-free, heavy metal-free, and selenium-rich. The project has been listed as a national key initiative under the 14th Five-Year Plan by the National Health Commission.

The event featured a distinguished panel of judges, including Professor Fu Wenge, Secretary-General of the WAFI Advisory Committee and Director of the MBA Education Center at China Agricultural University; Gu Ming, Founder of Xunzheng Investment; and Chen Xiaojun, Founder of the Essential Theory of Industry. The judges provided in-depth evaluations on the technical advancement and market feasibility of each project, offering constructive suggestions on technology optimization, business models, and international collaboration. Professor Fu highlighted that the roadshow serves as an international platform for agricultural science and technology projects, accelerating the transformation of innovations into industrial applications and enhancing the resilience of the global food supply chain.
This roadshow is part of a series of lead-up events to the 2025 World AgriFood Innovation Conference. Recognized as one of the three major global events in the agri-food sector, WAFI2025 will take place from October 12–14, 2025, in Pinggu District, Beijing, followed by linked activities in Haidian District in conjunction with the 120th Anniversary Celebration of China Agricultural University.
The WAFI2025 Global Agrifood Innovation Roadshow, built on the world-class WAFI platform and guided by the mission “Innovation Acceleration, Resilient Future,” targets structural challenges in the global agrifood industry. It identifies game-changing projects at the intersection of technological revolution and industrial transformation. The initiative screens for benchmark projects from global research institutes, universities, enterprises, and teams that exhibit advancement, originality, market viability, and alignment with sustainable development goals. By fostering precise integration of technology, capital, and industry, the roadshow aims to transform “seeds of innovation” into “new productive forces” with scalable impact, and to deeply empower the resilience of global food systems through science and technology.
Selected projects will be inducted into the WAFI Global AgriFood Innovation Pipeline, gaining priority access to international funding and scientific resources. This initiative will also provide an effective platform for global market entry, driving high-quality development in agriculture worldwide.
